Professional audio equipment used for stage performances is collectively referred to as stage sound, and stage sound is an important component of performance equipment.

The professional stage sound equipment includes: mixing console; main amplifier speakers; subwoofers; supplementary speakers; monitoring speakers; power amplifiers; microphones, equalizers; reverb units; effect units; delay units; processors; crossovers; CD players; recording cassette players; video players; headphones and many other related equipment.

For indoor artistic performances in theaters and stages, the top priority is sound art, which must first ensure the quality of sound color. The sound should be pleasant to the ear and beautiful in tone. For outdoor open-air artistic performances, since outdoor artistic performances are relatively more difficult than indoor performances, the top priority is sound technology, which must first ensure that the artistic performance runs smoothly and completes its task without any accidents.

There are two evaluation standards for the sound quality of professional stage sound equipment, the first is the objective standard, which is the instrument detection standard; the second is the subjective evaluation standard. Of the two, the objective standard (instrument detection standard) is clear, while the subjective standard is subjective and varies from person to person. Therefore, the objective standard must first detect good performance, which is the basis for good speakers and sound quality. Of course, the subjective evaluation should take "good resolution (high clarity of music)", "strong vitality (lively music expression)", "good imaging (good sound focus and positioning)", "good airiness (good elasticity)", and "high transparency (good high-frequency penetration)" as reference.
